Fade was originally created as an NPC for the TTRPG Dungeons & Dragons, and has been featured prominently in an ongoing campaign for more than a year. I decided to model him in 3D with the intent to feature him as the focus of a short, self-made game.

The patterns of his skin are inspired by real-life Red-Eyed Tree Frogs, and the glistening skin is inspired by Poison-Dart Frogs. In D&D, Fade’s skin is poisonous, so the slimy skin needed to be visualized if it is to be used as a mechanic in a future game.

The model was created using Autodesk Maya 2022 and the Textures were done using Substance Painter and Adobe Photoshop.
